The origin of the figure of Bluebeard belongs to the world of collective imagination, he is an archetype that metaphorically embodies evil, he continuously disguises himself, he insinuates himself and rages iconoclastically, reborn each time in new images of himself. Bluebeard returns obsessively through historical courses and recurrences and we still see him acting today. There is not “just one Bluebeard”, but infinite incarnations and declinations of the evil symbolized by his figure.
