Scientist Maria José Martinez Rodriguez Perez Roscon de Reyes Empanada de Garbanzos assigns her eccentric assistants an important task: to organize a conference for a special audience—children, the only ones able to grasp the deeper meaning of her research on worms. Through observation and interaction with Head and Tail, called to the difficult task of rediscovering and redefining their identity, the scientist hopes to answer the question that has always driven her work with earthworms: can one feel the absence of a tail? How can we move forward when we lose a piece of ourselves?
