The story unfolds through the journey of a young who, refusing to accept death, sets off for the land that gives the fairy tale its title. Along the way, she encounters unusual sages who, through moments of humor and melancholic poetry, offer her different paths to longevity. These sages come from “another world” - which is Africa, but also the Elsewhere - because, like all true fairy tales, this one takes place in the realm of dreams, a bridge between worlds and stories.
